Carla Marrero
Violín
Born in June 1995 in Madrid, Spain, Carla Marrero started playing the violin already being two years old. Despite of being so young, the music press has described her as “the fulfilment of a promise” or as “a very young violinist with a talent and a maturity very far from the age she really has”.
At the age of ten Carla won the famous international Russian competition Demidov International Young Violin Competition (Yekaterinburg, Russia) during which she did not only win the first prize but also the special prize of the Ministry of Culture for Great Artistic Talents as well as a special prize for being the youngest competitor. Therefore, Carla is the first non-Russian competitor who has won this competition ever.
Since she is seven years old, she is supported by the foundation Juventudes Musicales Madrid by means of a scholarship programme which is awarded very year.
One of her biggest successes until now is her interpretation of the Concert in e-minor of Mendelssohn and the one of the Concert n° 1 in G-Major by Max Bruch.
She has done auditions to famous and well-known musicians such as Pichas Zukerman, Daniel Barenboim, Plácido Domingo and Maurizio Fuks.
Recently she made her successful debut in the Conservatoire Tchaikovsky in Moscow and in the Philharmonics in Yekaterinburg (Russia).
Carla Marrero has worked so far with different prestigious directors and has collaborated with different orchestras such as the Symphonic Orchestra of Madrid (Spain), the Chamber Orchestra of Moscow or the Symphonic Orchestra of Miami (USA). Furthermore, she takes part in different charity projects of foundations or non-public organisations. The foundation SaludArte Foundation with the place of business and legal seat in Miami (USA) named her Ambassador of the children of Latin America. In Spain, Carla is appointed Ambassador of the good will by the foundation Tierra de hombres, a foundation she co-operates with in the divulgation of different kinds of charity projects normally by music performances and especially by means of the project Viaje hacia la Vida (Way to Life).
One of her most important teachers and supporters is the prestigious instructor Sergei Fatkuline who started giving classes to her when she was only five years old. Since 2004 she has been completing her musical formation in the Conservatoire of Cologne (Germany) where she works with Ariadne Daskalakis. From autumn 2007 she will also participate in a special programme of the encouragement and the formation in the area of chamber music conducted by Diemut Poppen and Marco Ricci in Detmold (Germany).
